While I painted water-coloured
peonies in the park.
I know not of what a lovebird sings;
I suppose they sing of so many things;
But surely, they sing mostly of
lovebird love.

Water weeps upon thy paper.
Flowers appear inside the vapours.
Beauty is garden in an ancient city.
Beauty is a world outside pity:
I don’t belong; I don’t belong.
My brush blends harmony and hues
Notes arranged orange, yellow, and blue.
Birds above oh they whistle and coo.
